Sadly for him he couldn't get on to the bird table so he just had to take off again.
We have a vast number of chaffinch in this area.
This was my first sighting of a Jay in the garden
He is here all the year round and 'helps' with the gardening in the summer!

In the summer they are a lovely chestnut colour but they have their winter colours now.
This one was really cheeky - ran away but kept coming back for more food. The birds were hovering and waiting for it to go so they could get back to their meal.
The stoat is easily distinguished by the black tip on its tail.
